Join the BACHnetwork

BACHlogoThe BACHnetwork is for organisations and individuals working in the operations and product development efforts of museums and heritage sites. Starting with the partners in the BACHproject in February 2023 the network opened its doors for larger participation.

The network is a space in which members:
- learn together and from each other's experiences,
- engage in dialogue about challenges and concepts for a more sustainable heritage sector and
- share their views and analysis of obtaining scenarios and possible avenues for constructive change to make heritage sites and museums more relevant for audiences and more widely owned by the communities around them.

The mission of the BACHnetwork is to up the relevance of Heritage in mindsets on European heritage, identity and values through better economic and socio-emotional positioning of the sector.

Heritage Malta is the national agency for all state owned museums, conservation practice and cultural heritage for Malta. It seeks to provide its various audiences with an enhanced experience during visits to its various sites and museums. From prehistoric caves to subterranean passageways, geology to ethnography, from the management of seven World Heritage Sites to industrial and underwater heritage, there is no interest it does not cater for.

MANEAT – Museums of Art, Nature, Ethnography and Territorial Archeology - includes the Civic Archaeological Museum of Campagnano di Roma or Pilgrim Museum, the Museum of Agro Veientano of Formello, the Archaeological and Virtual Museum of Narce of Mazzano Romano, the Antiquarium Museum of Sutri and the Roman Etruscan Museum of Trevignano Romano. Themes in common are the roads between via Flaminia, via Cassia and via Francigena and the great families who have united a large part of the territory over time.

Archeoares operates in the cultural heritage sector, developing all aspects connected to it, integrating research activity with the tourist promotion of the area. It offers educational and cultural services for museums and monuments and management services to over 50 cultural and monumental sites between Spain and Italy, adapting them each time to the specifics of each place.

Nature Education is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting environmental consciousness and cleanliness within cities, with a particular emphasis on the sea and beaches, as well as parks. As a result of its origins in a small seaside town, it is deeply committed to preserving these natural resources. It has a very active cooperation with local stakeholders including operators of heritage sites and has indeed frequently set up activities within such structures.

The 13th century palazzo, set in the heart of the medieval city of Mdina, was the home of Captain Olof Frederick Gollcher OBE (1889-1962), an artist, soldier, collector and philanthropist. The Olof Gollcher Collection comprises artefacts originating from European and Mediterranean countries, between the 15th and 20th centuries, including furniture, arms, armour, jewellery, coins, paintings, fans, rugs, documents, manuscripts, silver and glass.

The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage is the national regulator of cultural heritage in Malta since its inception with the enactment of the Cultural Heritage Act in 2002. The entity acts within this legal framework to ensure the protection, promotion, and conservation of the nation’s movable and immovable cultural heritage. The functions of the Superintendence are therefore vast and range from the curation and publication of the national inventory, the excavation, research, and monitoring of archaeological sites, as well as the protection, restoration, conservation, maintenance and promotion of both immovable and movable cultural heritage.
